CompactFlash Card
I use Simple Technology 48MB CompactFlash cards. Some people have
reported problems with Simple Technology cards such as the camera
locks up, or they get a "memory card unusable"
message on the LCD. The reported solutions to these problems vary
from replacing the memory cards with another manufacturer´s (like
SanDisk) to reformatting the card in the camera to just taking out
the batteries and then replacing them.
I have to admit that I did have these sorts of problem with mine a couple of times, until I tried something that seems to work fine for me: I used Windows 95 Explorer to reformat the
card while it was plugged into the PC Card (PCMCIA) slot on my Toshiba laptop. Problems all gone! Oh if only everything were that simple! If you´ve got Simple Technology cards and have a problem, try my
solution if you can. I hope it works - but if it doesn´t - return the product to Simple Technology for a refund or replacement. |
