The Sample Catalog

FilFolio™ comes with a sample catalog (called FilFolio Sample Catalog.fdb). The sample catalog already has the following mappings set up for you:

	·	ApertureValue
	·	DateTimeDigitized
	·	DateTimeOriginal
	·	ExifVersion
	·	ExposureBiasValue
	·	ExposureProgram
	·	ExposureTime
	·	Flash
	·	FNumber
	·	FocalLength
	·	ISOSpeedRatings
	·	LightSource
	·	MeteringMode
	·	SensingMethod
	·	ShutterSpeedValue
	·	SubjectDistance
	·	SubSecTime
	·	SubSecTimeOriginal

That is, the catalog has all of these custom fields set up in it and they happen to match those metadata items that FilFolio™ treats as its set of default mappings.

This file can be found in the following folder: <FilFolio folder>\Samples where <FilFolio folder> means the place where you installed FilFolio™. This is the folder in Step 5 of the Installation process. For example, it could be E:\Program Files\FilFolio so in this case the sample catalog would be found in E:\Program Files\FilFolio\Samples.

To use the sample catalog just follow these steps:

	1.	Copy it to another location and rename it from FilFolio Sample Catalog.fdb to something of your choosing - say My Test Catalog.fdb (that way, you will always have the original sample catalog to use over and over again).
	2.	Open it with Portfolio™ and add images to it by using the Catalog|Add Items... menu item in the normal way.
	3.	Run FilFolio™ to extract the metadata. For more detail on this see Adding the Metadata.

Then you're ready to actually using the metadata in Portfolio.
