Setting up your Mappings...

Because there isn't any support in Portfolio™ to create custom fields automatically, the process of setting up your FilFolio™ mappings is unfortunately a bit more complicated than it could have been. Anyway, this and the next 3 topics show you how to do it. Good luck!

FilFolio™ actually provides you with two ways to set up your mappings: you decide which one to use -

	1.	Do you know about image metadata, EXIF and tagged file formats? Do you know exactly which metadata you want to use in your catalogs? If you do then try this topic - Setting up your Mappings for the Expert.
	2.	Do you just want to find out what metadata is in your images and use it without needing to understand EXIF and tagged file formats? If so then try this topic - Setting up your Mappings for the Professional.

(And when you're comfortable using FilFolio™ you can use both together!)

If you really find all this too tedious to bother with then try loading up FilFolio™'s sample catalog - it already has the mappings set up for you and you just need to add your images and then go on to the topics starting at Adding the Metadata.
